Tong Engineering exhibiting at RWM2013

One of the UK’s leading designers and manufacturers of handling and sorting equipment for the recycling industry is set to attend this year’s Recycling & Waste Management (RWM) Exhibition.

Tong Engineering will be showcasing its 2013 range of handling and sorting machinery on stand 17D12 at the NEC Birmingham between 10th-12th September.

Visitors will have the chance to talk to the team about its latest equipment, as well as how custom MRF solutions can benefit users, improve efficiencies and effectively utilise both labour and space.

“Tong Engineering has been manufacturing in the UK for more than 80 years and has a great deal of experience in providing custom built equipment to materials handling industries,” commented Gavin Barnes, Recycling Projects Engineer at Tong Engineering.

“As specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of a wide range of robust and reliable handling machinery, our systems are custom built and based on the specific requirements of their use. Typically, they include bulk handling infeed hoppers with waste materials transferred to trommel screens, picking stations and materials recovery bays, but our bespoke design service allows full customisation.

“Offering throughputs of between five and 30 tonnes per hour on unsorted recyclables, our systems offer excellent flexibility depending on the required usage. More specialist equipment, such as overband magnets, optical sorters and compacting machinery, amongst other things, can also be incorporated into a fully automated facility to offer maximum throughput and recycling capabilities.

“From single conveyors, elevators, balers and shredders to full bespoke conveying systems, Tong Engineering manufactures the complete package. The range of specialist materials handling equipment also includes trommels, sorting and separating equipment, tipping systems and inspection areas through to self-tipping skips,” added Gavin.
